These are a few of the home recording projects I've done alone. Some have audio backing tracks, others MIDI sequences.
This is a instrumental by Frank Zappa that has been hanging around on my hard drive for quite a while (early 2000's). I assembled the drum part using MIDI clips from Bill Bruford's Packet of 3 and played bass lines using a MIDI keyboard, then overdubbed guitars. Originally it was going to be a remote collaboration with a violinist but that never came to fruition. For a while I wasn't happy with my execution of the melody, so it gathered digital dust for a few years until I finally pulled it up one day and recorded the guitar parts again.

This one was improvised guitar over a rhythm loop that I recorded one sunny Saturday morning some time last year.

This was inspired by a convalescing cat we have been watching over for my wife's mother. I found a few mewing cat sounds and draped them with a little mellow music.

A couple of weeks ago in my weekly virtual Weight Watchers meeting, a well-loved member who had been gone for a long time returned. Many noticed and typed messages like "so glad you are back!" in the Zoom chat feed. She typed, "thanks for the love tsunami, everyone!" I typed, "love tsunami! It sounds like a song!" She replied, "I think you should write it," and I said, "I just might." So... here it is!
